Elliott Tanner is passionate for theoretical and experimental physics, math, and computer programming. He started his full-time college career at the age of 9 and is currently a second year physics PhD student at the University of Minnesota to further study High Energy Theoretical Physics. He is a member of the DSMMA program, a National Science Foundation-supported research training program for Data Science in Multi-Messenger Astrophysics at the University of Minnesota. Elliott is currently a student researcher with SuperCDMS at SNOLAB under advisor Professor Priscilla Cushman.
In May, 2020 Elliott graduated college at 11 years old with a Associate of Science degree in Mathematics with high honors (4.0GPA). He graduated at the University of Minnesota - College of Science and Engineering with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics and Minor in Mathematics in May, 2022 at 13 years old. Elliott received his Masters Degree in Physics from the University of Minnesota in December, 2023 at 15 years old.
When Elliott isn't immersed in his love of academics, you can find him playing board games with his family, spending time with friends playing games such as Minecraft, Oculus, and Magic the Gathering, reading, traveling, and listening to some of his favorite musical artists which includes Steely Dan and The Beatles.
In August 2019, Elliott had the opportunity to visit the set of and hang out with the amazing cast and crew of Young Sheldon in Los Angeles, California. He even got to visit the Big Bang Theory set!
